Saudi Arabia vs Argentina, an official victory and a sole participation for Messi

The Saudi national team will meet its Argentine rival in the opening of their campaign in Group C, at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, at noon on Tuesday.

Tomorrow's match will draw the early features of the group and the path of the two teams, especially the Saudi green, for whom the match seems more difficult, in the face of one of the candidates for the title, led by legend Lionel Messi.

Tomorrow's match is the fifth between the two teams, as they have previously met in 3 friendly matches, and one official confrontation.

The first match between the two teams was held, in July 1988, in the Australian International Friendly Cup, and they drew 2-2.

The second match was in the same friendly tournament, to determine third place, where Argentina won 2-0.

In the only official match between them, on October 20, 1992, in the final of the King Fahd Cup, whose name was later changed to the Confederations Cup, the tango dancers won 3-1.

The Argentine hat-trick was scored by Leonardo Rodriguez, Caniggia and Diego Simeone, while Saeed Al-Owairan scored the only goal for Al-Akhdar.

The last friendly match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina took place on November 14, 2012, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, and ended 0-0, noting that it was the only confrontation in which the star Messi participated against Al-Akhdar.
