Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese national team star, commented on his record achievement in the World Cup, after defeating Ghana (3-2), in the first round of the group stage in the World Cup in Qatar.
Ronaldo scored Portugal's first goal in the 65th minute from a penalty kick, becoming the first player in history to score goals in 5 consecutive editions of the World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo said in a press conference, after winning the Ghana-Portugal Man of the Match award, that he is proud of what he achieved from the historical record.
The Portuguese star added, "I became the first player in the world to score in 5 World Cups, which is a matter of pride."
Regarding the termination of his contract with Manchester United, he said: "What matters to me is that I am now playing in the World Cup and scoring goals with Portugal. Anything else does not matter."
Portugal tops the group standings table with 3 points, two points behind Uruguay and South Korea after they tied (0-0), while Ghana is at the bottom of the group without points.
The Portuguese national team is preparing to face Uruguay in the second round, while it will face South Korea in the third round.
