A Spanish press report revealed, today, Saturday, a surprise regarding the possibility of Barcelona contracting the Portuguese Bernardo Silva, the Manchester City midfielder, this summer.
Silva's name was associated with the move to Barcelona, as part of the Catalan team's plan to build a strong team, in order to regain titles in the new season.
According to the Catalan newspaper, "Sport", Barcelona was waiting to get rid of Dutchman Frenkie de Jong, whether for Manchester United or Chelsea, in order to finance the Silva deal.
However, Barca is currently able to include Silva, without compromising De Jong, after activating the economic levers, which will allow entering the transfer market and registering new deals naturally.
The newspaper pointed out that De Jong's file will end with the player's agreement to reduce his salary and continue with the team.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona strengthened its ranks this summer with high-caliber deals, led by Robert Lewandowski, Rafinha and Frank Casey.
